Shanda Games (Nasdaq:GAME) predicted that Legend of Immortal would become one of its main revenue drivers in 2011, but the game has performed poorly in recent months – PCU slid 15.2% m-o-m to 140,000 in September, according to our tracking. Though promotional campaigns accompanied the start of open beta (OB) testing in September, we expect these caused only a brief rebound in PCU, followed by further declines. Players have told us that the game’s OB version lacks interesting new content and that design flaws remain.
