The China Report: Macro Monthly - October 2010

Pacific Epoch’s Macro Monthly report analyzes the previous month’s official macroeconomic data, looking in particular at CPI, PPI, inflation, investment, industrial output, retail sales, bank lending, liquidity, imports, exports and the government’s policy outlook. This report examines October's economic data, particularly the government's likely response to the surprisingly high CPI figure.

Each month includes a summary of key findings from the latest Pacific Epoch Bank Lending Survey, which is comprised of information from contacts in charge of lending at 100 branches of 39 city-level commercial banks, located in 12 provinces across east, north, and central China.

It also includes a summary of key findings from the latest Pacific Epoch Export Survey, which is used to gauge outlook and confidence among exporters. It is comprised of 100 export-oriented manufacturers based across northern, eastern and southeastern China. Most of which are primarily focused on exports to the US, Europe, East Asia, and Southeast Asia.
