Wen: March Trade Deficit to Hit $8b

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao estimated China may record a trade deficit of more than $8 billion in March, China Daily reported March 23. According to the report, the deficit would be the first since May 2004.

China's Minister of Commerce Chen Daming said March 22 there is a possibility the country may record a trade deficit in March, based on strong growth of imports in the previous two months.
