Tianwei Ramps Up 3000T Polysilicon Project

Tianwei Silicon, a subsidiary of power transformer and solar cell manufacturer Baoding Tianwei Baobian Electric Co. (600550.SH), began trial production in a 3,000-ton polysilicon project on August 23, the parent company announced Tuesday. Tianwei Silicon produced approximately two tons of polysilicon on Monday and plans to start full manufacturing in 2010, said the report.
