Tencent (0700.HK) plans to start closed beta testing of its licensed 3D MMORPG Continent of the Ninth ("C9") on August 4, according to a notice on the game's site. Tencent also plans to begin alpha testing of its licensed military-themed first-person shooter Battery ("Lieyan Xingdong" in Chinese) in August, and to launch new characters for its licensed side-scrolling casual game Dungeon and Fighter in September, qq.com reported separately.

Tencent started open beta testing of its in-house developed turn-based fantasy webgame Mohuan Dalu (meaning "Magic Continent") on August 1, according to the game's site.
