Shanghai OCN To Begin DTV Trail

Shanghai Oriental Cable Network announced that it will launch a digital cable TV trial in Shanghai this year, reports Shanghai Securities News. The company will integrate cable TV, DTV and value-added services and also develop IPTV in 2006. Shanghai Oriental Cable Network had a subscriber based of 250,000 households through the end of 2005. In 2005, the company developed nearly 80,000 new cable TV subscribers and over 80,000 DTV users, said the report.
