Shanghai High Definition Technology Industrial Plans To Sell 2M DTV Chips

Shanghai-based High Definition Technology Industrial Co. Ltd. technology director Guan Yunfeng said that the company can produce 500,000 terrestrial digital TV (DTV) chips monthly and targets sales of two million chips in 2008, reports Shanghai Securities News. Guan said that that two million chips is half of the market demand, meaning he believes China should reach four million digital TV subscribers by the end of 2008. Shanghai had record 300,000 DTV subscribers at the end of 2007, said the report.
