LDK Polysilicon Plant Reaches 2GW Capacity

Wafer and photovoltaic product maker LDK Solar (NYSE:LDK) has reached 2GW of annualized capacity at its wafer plant in Xinyu, Jiangxi province, the company announced April 19.

LDK said in its fourth quarter earnings announcement that it recorded wafer capacity of 1.8GW in 2009, its 1,000 metric ton (MT) plant was producing near capacity, and that it was ramping up operations in the first 5,000MT train of its 15,000MT plant.
