Fujian Province Raises DTV Fees

Fujian province released a new digital TV payment plan on February 12, reports www.66163.com The price will be 18 Yuan per month for users in towns and cities and 15 Yuan for rural households. The current price is 13 Yuan per month for town and city households. Extra fees for video-on-demand (VOD) and paid channels will be determined by digital TV network operators themselves. The basic package will include over 60 TV channels. According to a Fujian Daily report, by the end of 2007, 1.5 million to two million Fujian households will have switched to digital TV transfer and another 2.5 million to three million will switch in 2008. The whole province will complete the digital TV transfer by 2010.
