China’s Digital Publishing Makes RMB 80b in 2009

China's digital publication sector has outperformed the book publication sector to reach gross output worth RMB 79.94 billion in 2009, China Youth Daily reported July 27 citing a report by the country's General Administration of Press and Publication (GAPP). Revenues from mobile phone digital content accounted for 24.2% of total revenues from digital content, exceeding that of online games, the report said. The country's total output in the entire media and publication industry was worth RMB 1.07 trillion in 2009, according to the report.
