AirMedia Supplies Air China with Domestic Films
Out-of-home advertising network operator AirMedia Group (Nasdaq:AMCN) and Air China (0753.HK, 601111.SH) have agreed to cooperate on providing airline film selections to the carrier, according to a report by China Times on August 20. Air media currently owns licenses to more than 200 domestic movies, and the company has formed partnerships with film production firms including China Film Group Corporation, Shanghai Media Group and Beijing Enlight Pictures, according to the report.
Domestic airliners used to play Hollywood movies at a cost of $80 per film, but the costs for domestic films are much lower, the report said citing AirMedia public relations director.
